“Implementing Peer Services in the Medical Setting” is a PCB approved education. It is a one day training that addresses the needs and concerns of supporting recovery services in medical facilities. With the growing need to supply patients more than traditional treatment services, this training provides practical tools for cohesion with medical staff and peer supporters.

This six hour PCB approved training will teach attendees what peers are and how to effectively implement peers in a medical setting. Budgeting is the smallest worry. For both medical professionals and behavioral health staff, implementing peers into a medical setting is more than making a face-to-face referral.

Attendees will learn the the principles of peer support. The beliefs and knowledge of the peer community will also be discussed. Like every field, peer services in the medical setting has benefits and challenges. In addition, this training will provide practical tools for effectively supporting peer staff.
